National Grief and Bereavement Day

November 17, 2021

National Grief and Bereavement Day: I’m excited to have donated this piece for everyone to see at Vernon Hospice @vernonhospice This month National Grief and Bereavement day is Nov 16th and Vernon Hospice is highlighting the need for funding for bereavement services. This piece is called Letting Go, and is part of my series on personal stages of grief. The title is meant to be somewhat ironic, as I don’t believe I will ever let go but feeling the wind and smelling the change of season I can feel hopeful for new adventures and growth. I created this work from recycled and found materials such as cut up pillow cases representing the constant need for finding a way for your dying loved one to get comfortable. There are also plants and minerals found in the Okanagan, meant to connect me back to nature. #grief2021
