water

One of Sarah’s earliest memories is the moment her grandmother placed a watercolor brush in her hand.  She recalls painting felt like the most natural thing to do. From that first experience, water itself has played a large influential role both in use of media and subject matter. Plagued since childhood with nightmares of crashing waves or deep dark depths, she has worked  with both her fear and her immense love of water and it’s many life giving properties. Sarah continues to explore themes surrounding the human experience of interacting with the rivers and lakes that make British Columbia and Shuswap unique.
